Where's Paul Harvey's "Rest of the Story" When You Need Him?

While the public is discussing the merits and methods of the termination of Ms. Manns, now former city manager, I wonder if the Monroe Evening News and the Toledo Blade are interested in completing the job they are ethically bound to do, i.e. the "very job of journalism is to explain complex issue" and this is definitely not a black and white story.

I have a feeling that there is more to the story of Ms. Manns' termination.

One very curious statement by Councilperson Compora in the Toledo Blade was her dismay in discovering that the city manager's computer was locked down after the meeting. My question is, why was she accessing it all? The computer should contain only city-related and city-owned data and information and since she was no longer an employee she had no need to touch it. So what exactly was she going after? Wouldn't it be interesting if one our "esteemed" papers actually followed through on this story and did a FOIA request of that computer?

What was it that Ms. Manns and Ms. Compora wanted to protect or perhaps delete? Too "conspiracy theory" for you? Well, let's find out then.

It is no secret that Ms. Manns is beholden to Mr. Iacoangeli for that very well-paid position. The question, then, did Ms. Manns adhere to the principles of ICMA (International City/County Management Association) Code of Ethics. (www.icma.org)

And one hilarious observation was Councilperson Compora's comment at the last meeting in regards to the ethics ordinance that the past council was interested in setting high standards for the council. Unfortunately that last council didn't want an "ethics" ordinace to get in the way of governing until they were a couple of weeks from leaving.

Comments:
Councilperson Copmpora's conduct at the last City Council meeting has been far, far worse than merely conduct unbecoming of a councilperson. If Councilperson Compora's series of comments had been made out in public she would be guilty of defamation. More to the point it is disgraceful for a councilperson to accuse anyone, let alone the Mayor, of criminal activity (skunking her car), or being a sexist, or a racist without a shred of evidence. Councilperson Compora is making a mockery out of City Council. To preserve the integrity of the Council they need to act immediately and do something about her behavior.

The Monroe Evening News would rather report on the police investigation of the alleged open meeting acts violations.

Is it just me, or does Council Morons lack of decorum and respect translate to the audience’s behavior?

It is a well-known procedure that all questions and discussion should be directed through the chair, in this case the Mayor. A certain amount of decorum should be expected, and I believe everyone in that room deserves it.

In that meeting you had Compora making slanderous statements about the mayor, council members, and audience members. You then have people in the audience following her lead.

How can the Mayor control the meeting tempo when all of the council can't even behave? I think it was telling that Dorothy Edwards took steps to disassociate herself from Compora.

It is difficult to see this situation improving.

On the previous post I compared Wetzel and Compora to each other.

I apologize if anyone construed that I was saying their behavior was similar.

Wetzel used logic, brains, and reasoning.

Compora shrieks, defames, and calls the police.

I was only observing that on those respective councils each was in the minority role.
